Nashville Ulster Project
This international project provides a month-long (July) family hosting of a Northern Irish Catholic or Protestant boy or girl between 13-15 years old. The goal of the project, in which all events are FREE except for housing and carpooling, is to help Northern Irish teens from Enniskillen immerse themselves into a non-partisan environment.
We bring the groups together through service projects, team-building events, pool parties and trips down the Ocoee River and to Kentucky Kingdom. Most of the two religious groups are separated almost to the point of segregation in NI and would not have these opportunities TOGETHER.
Other events include lock-in's at St. Henry's and songwriting/singing/recording sessions at Belmont University's Curb Studios with internationally known artists like Maura O'Connell. Many St. Matthew parishioners have participated in the 15 years of the local chapter's existence.
Request an application early as only 4 Catholic and 4 Protestant Teens (2 boys/2 girls each religion) are selected. To Request an NUP Application form, email: joceline.lemaire@dioceseofnashville.com
