Active Parenting

Active Parenting Now is a video-based interactive learning experience intended for parents of children ages 5-12. Although it is not specifically geared toward parents of children with special needs, the methods and teachings are still applicable to all populations of children. Parents will discuss and learn the following: effective communication with children; preventing use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs; teaching responsibility while using discipline; encouraging the development of self-esteem and character; redirecting misbehavior and sidestepping power struggles; and exploring and encouraging nonviolent conflict resolution. This course will help you to clarify your goals for your children and help them to reach them as well as teach you a consistent model of parenting.
